Japanese apricot

Hi everyone!!
Today I'm going to talk about "Japanese apricot"(ume!!).

Do you like it??I love it:)
However, the taste is very very sour, so foreigners tend to hate it.

2 years ago, I had an American friend who was a student at KUIS.
One day, he asked me to teach him how to cook rice balls. (It is pretty easy tho:Dhaha)
Then we went to a grocery store to get some ingredients for the rice balls.

Ususally, salmon, okaka, kombu, or of cource Japanese apricot are standard ingredients for
rice balls.

We got them, and started to make rice balls at home.
It was first time to eat Japanese apricot for him, and it killed him!!

It surprised him and he spit it...
I was pretty shocked because I love Japanese apricot and I was proud of it as a Japanese. lol
But he SPIT it... I felt kind of culture shock, but it was interesting.

Anyway, I love Japanese apricot.
We can eat as picled ume, jam and there are a lot of ways to eat it.

It includes much citric acid, and it maked our body fine!!
We should eat it in summer!!

Fujinomiya Yakisoba

Hi everyone!!

Have you ever heard or eaten "Fujinomiya Yakisoba"?
Fujinomiya is my hometown and it is located on the east of Shizuoka.

Fujinomiya Yakisoba is little bit different from regular Yakisoba.

Then, what's the difference?

1. Its noodle is slightly harder than regular one (kind of rubbery...)
and only two companies, "Marumo" and "Kano-ya" are producing the noodle.

⇩Kano-ya ⇩Marumo

2. It includes Niku-kasu that are peaces of fried meat, and they are crunchy

(History)

In 2000, "Fujinomiya Yakisoba Gakkai" which is an organization for promoting Fujinomiya Yakisoba. They challenged The Guiness Book of World Records by making Yakisoba for 3776 people. Can you guess the meaning of 3776? This number is the hight of Mt Fuji. As you may know, Mt Fuji is located on part of Fujinomiya city, so they challenged making Yakisoba for 3776 people. At that time, they used 6m long hot plate. I ate this Yakisoba:) In 2006, Fujinomiya Yakisoba was awarded for the first "B-1 Grand Prix", and then it was awarded for the second "B-1 Grand Prix" in 2007. Since then, it has been becoming famous popular.

There are a lot of restaurants that serve "Fujinomiya Yakisoba" everywhere in Fujinoiya.

If you have a chance to go to there, find the flag of "Fujinomiya Yakisoba" and eat!!

macaron

Today, I'm going to talk about "macaron".

Have you ever watched "Marie Antoinette"?

That's my favorite one and the scenes which I like are

that Marie is eating sweets.

In 1770, Marie got married to Louis Augesto who was a prince in France.
However, Marie was sort of isolated because she was from Austria.
Although she found herself alone, there were always so beautiful dresses,

shoes, jewelies and SWEETS around her.

When I watched it for the first time(5-6years ago?),

I was curious about colorful circle things like cookies.

They were macaron:)

Macaron is a confection which is like sandwich.

Colored cookies sand butter cream or jam.

Cookies are made from egg whites, icing sugar,

granulated sugar, almond powder or ground almond, and food coloring.

Macaron is tradittional food in France and it has a long history.

It said that macarons were created in Frence in 791.

However, there are a lot of opimion about its origin.

I felt the food is part of its country's history

and it has been loved so long long time.

yellow pepper:1/4

chedder cheese
chicken(boiled): 10~20g

salsa sauce: 3 spoons

butter:5g

1. put butter in a pan and fry 1 sheet of tortilla quickly

2. spread some pieces of chicken, yellow pepper, green pepper and chedder cheese on half of the tortilla, and fry it for 30 sec.

3. fold it into half

4. turn it over and fry both sides

5. cut it into three and serve them on a plate

6. dip into salsa sauce and eat:)!!!

Do you wanna try it??:D

If you are not good at spicy food, you should try mild salsa sauce

or you do like spicy one, you should try hot one.

You can add anything you like, for example, bacon, onion, or tomato etc.

It's very easy cooking and so tasty!!

I highly recommend it for you.
